2026 McLaren Trophy America Championship
ORLANDO, Fla., (December 15, 2025) – In addition to the announcement last week of the two father-and-son Hooper Street entries for 2026, OMS is happy to announce a pair of entries for another father-and-son duo for the McLaren Trophy America grid for the upcoming 2026 racing season. Stephen Sorbaro will be returning in his #49 teal and yellow liveried McLaren Artura Trophy EVO for the season after taking the AM category Papaya Cup Championship and third place in the AM Championship in 2025. Stephen will be joined on the grid by his son Scott Sorbaro in the #3 yellow and teal liveried Trophy EVO.
“I’m excited to come back to the Trophy America series for another season.” Stephen Sorbaro continues, “I love driving this car, McLaren has built a fantastic car and fun series. OMS do a great job preparing the car for us each time out, but for me the best part is to share the grid with Scott.”
Scott Sorbaro, who debuted in the series and with OMS in Road America this past season, states of the upcoming season; “I’m really excited to be joining OMS for the 2026 McLaren Trophy season! I'm looking forward to working with such an incredible, professional team and to enjoying some fun, fast races together. Can't wait to see what the season has in store for us.”
For Team Principal Eric Burch, the additions are certainly welcomed. “Stephen did such a good job last season in capturing the Papaya Cup Championship, I have no doubt that he’ll hit the ground running on the upcoming season. Scott, who joined us at Road America, immediately showed pace. We anticipate continuing his growth behind the wheel this season. I’m very happy to have the four cars on the grid for this season. I’m sure we’ll have some epic battles between teammates as well as the father-son bragging rights that each will take home with them.”
The duo will again be coached by racing veteran Pierre Klienubing. All OMS entries will again proudly carry the McLaren Orlando banners as our dealer partner.
The 2026 McLaren Trophy America season kicks off at Sonoma Raceway on March 27-29.
